MEDT 1410 - Immunohematology4 credit(s) Prerequisite (taken before): BIOS 2250 - General Anatomy & Physiology I , MEDT 1320 - Hematology II The following course must be taken before or at the same time: BIOS 2260 - General Anatomy & Physiology II Covers theoretical principles and procedures in immunohematology as they pertain to the clinical laboratory. Blood banking procedures will be covered including: antigens, antibodies, immune system responses, genetics, antibody identification, compatibility testing, transfusion reactions, component therapy, donor selection and tests, autoimmune hemolytic anemias and hemolytic disease of the newborn.
