HIMS 2510 - Coding I3 credit(s)
Prerequisite (taken before): HLTH 1060 - Comprehensive Medical Terminology , and or
Study of the purpose and use of the current diagnostic coding classification system. An introduction to inpatient and outpatient diagnostic coding, coding conventions and principles, and official coding guidelines. Students will assign current diagnostic codes to various clinical diagnoses, scenarios, and patient records.
