Prerequisite (taken before): HIMS 2510 - Coding I
The study and practice of the principles of the Current Procedural Terminology (CPT) and HCPCS Level III classification systems, which are used in hospital outpatient, ER departments, physician offices, and stand-alone ambulatory care centers. Students will assign CPT/HCPCS codes to clinical procedures, scenarios, and patient records.
