Chemical Dependency Technician Certificate

Purpose

The Chemical Dependency Technician certificate offers a unique blend of coursework that prepares students for the ability to carry out the obligations associated working as chemical dependency technician in a treatment facility or half-way house specializing in substance use disorders. Coursework includes an opportunity to attend a variety of recovery oriented meetings designed for individuals with substance use disorders and their family members, a 20-hour observation of professionals and clients in a treatment facility, and educational opportunities to develop the skills needed to work with a variety of diverse clients.
