Reimbursement Specialist Diploma

Purpose
This diploma prepares graduates with entry-level skills needed for employment in medical office and/or billing positions in a variety of health care settings. A career in a reimbursement specialist would handle the process of receiving insurance payments, posting to patient accounts, submitting secondary insurances, collections, working through appeals, audits and addressing financial risks to the facility. Students who graduate with the Reimbursement Specialist diploma will have covered entry level skills needed to assist the facility in the revenue cycle and reimbursement management process. 1. Acquiring appropriate Mandatory Assessment scores in math, writing and reading. |

OR |
|

2. Completing the following courses: |
|

a. MATH 0930 Practical Math OR MATH 0940 Pre-Algebra with a C or above. |
|
|
AND |
|
|
b. ENGL 0970 Reading & Writing Essentials II with a C or above. |
|
OR |
|
|
3. Completing a 1000-level MATH or ENGL course with a D or above. |
