MEDA 2330 - Laboratory Techniques & Procedures I3 credit(s)
Prerequisite (taken before): HLTH 1060 - Comprehensive Medical Terminology , MEDA 1100 - Exam Room I and MEDA 1250 - Medical Office I
In this course students will cover general principles and techniques in basic laboratory functions including professionalism, organization, quality and infection control, laboratory organization, safety, phlebotomy, basic laboratory procedures (including CLIA waived testing) and sample specimen collections that a medical assistant may perform in a medical office laboratory.
