CRIM 2400 - Introduction to Homeland Security

This course will examine the history, principles and practices involved in the emerging homeland security field.  Students will be introduced to the various agencies that the Department of Homeland Security oversee and what their fundamental mission involves. National security involving both foreign and domestic terrorism along will other threats to our national interests will be examined.  Subjects as privacy concerns, diversity and international law will be examined in relation to national security.  Current and future strategies will be discussed as well as the student’s being challenged to explore various options to determine both the legality as well as their effectiveness.
