Electrical Technology AAS Degree

Purpose


The Electrical Technology AAS Degree is designed to prepare students to become an apprentice electrician. Upon completion of the AAS degree and three additional years as an apprentice electrician in the field, graduates will be able to submit application to take the state journeyman electrician exam.  Graduates will also be prepared for jobs in the areas of electrical estimating, controls, and parts sales.  

Note: This degree is available at Grand Island and Hastings

All graduates with an AA, AS, AAS or ADN will complete a minimum of 15 credits of General Education from the following (AA and AS students will have additional requirements):

  • GEN ED Group A: Communications 3 credit(s)
  • GEN ED Group B: Critical Thinking and Problem Solving 6 credit(s)
    (Required: MATH 1020  AND PHYS 1150 )
  • GEN ED Group C: Career and Life Skills, D: Information & Technology Literacy or E: Global Awareness 3 credit(s)
  • GEN ED Group A, B, C, D or E 3 credit(s)
