Auto Body Technology AAS Degree

Purpose


The degree award is for those graduates who wish to combine vocational skills with interpersonal knowledge, necessary to find employment in all areas of the auto body field, including sales, technical representative, and service.

Note: Program available at the Hastings campus only.

Basic Achievement Requirements


All graduates with an AA, AS, AAS or ADN will meet minimum achievements for math, writing and reading. Graduates can meet the requirement by:

   1. Acquiring appropriate Mandatory Assessment Placement (MAP) scores in math, writing and reading.
  OR  
  2. Completing the following courses:
    a. MATH 0980 Math Essentials with a C or above.
    AND/OR
    b. ENGL 0970 Reading & Writing Essentials II with a C or above.

General Education Core Requirements


All graduates with an AA, AS, AAS or ADN will complete a minimum of 15 credits of General Education from the following (AA and AS students will have additional requirements):

  • GEN ED Group A: Communications 3 credit(s)
  • GEN ED Group B: Critical Thinking and Problem Solving 3 credit(s)
  • GEN ED Group C: Life and Career Skills, D: Information & Technology Literacy or E: Global Awareness 3 credit(s)
  • GEN ED Group A, B, C, D or E 6 credit(s)

Subtotal: 15


Total Credits for AAS Degree: 63
