PHRM 1230 - Sterile & Non-Sterile Compounding

Prerequisite (taken before): PHRM 1110 - Introduction to Pharmacy Technology  
Learn to identify and use appropriate equipment used in sterile and non-sterile compounding. Identify reasons of why a product would need to be compounded. Identify what products are needed to compound different sterile and non-sterile medications. Basic knowledge of injectable therapies will be explored. Learn and practice skills and techniques of compounding different preparations. Safe handling and compounding of hazardous drugs. Describe how USP 797 has impacted compounding of sterile medications.
